Denmark and China Sign Three Protocols to Cooperate in Promoting Bilateral Trade in Agri-Food Products

During his visit to Beijing, the Danish Minister of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Jacob Jensen, signed three important protocols with China's General Administration of Customs on barley, horse feed, and wild fish products.

This is significant for wild fish products as one of the new protocols no longer requires wild fish products to be admitted on a species-by-species basis, opening up easier access to the Chinese market for wild-caught fish products from Denmark and Greenland. Today, all wild-caught fish from Denmark and Greenland can be granted market access for export to China under one protocol, which greatly simplifies the market access process for Danish and Greenlandic exporters of wild-caught fish.

In 2024, seafood of all kinds, including fish, became Denmark's largest food export to China, accounting for 351TP3 T. Over the years, Denmark's food exports to China have been enriched, and now cover a wide range of areas, including fish and other seafood, pork, dairy products, and innovative food ingredients.
