On December 9, 2024 Amazon Global Open Store Cross-border Summit opened in Nanjing. Secretary of Municipal Party Committee Zhou Hongbo met with Eric Broussard, Global Vice President of Amazon and Head of Third Party International Business, and Dai Jiefei, Global Vice President of Amazon and Executive President of Global Open Store Asia-Pacific, and his entourage, while Mayor Chen Zhichang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
Amazon Global Store Cross-border Summit is an annual event for China's cross-border e-commerce industry. With the theme of "High Quality Going to Sea, Innovation Chain Future", the summit focuses on cross-border e-commerce innovation, opportunity expansion and local empowerment, and releases more than 30 new initiatives, aiming at empowering cross-border e-commerce sellers with "High Quality Going to Sea" in a comprehensive way. The summit will organize a number of industry activities, parallel forums, and jointly explore the cross-border e-commerce industry upgrade and innovation path.
Zhou Hongbo congratulated the Amazon Global Open Store Cross-border Summit held in Nanjing for the first time. He said that cross-border e-commerce is an important support for cultivating new dynamic energy of foreign trade and serving to build a new development pattern. The convening of the summit will give better play to the driving role of the Amazon global cross-border e-commerce head platform, and further enhance the openness and radiation of Nanjing as an important hub city at the intersection of the "Belt and Road" and an international consumption center city, so as to achieve complementary advantages and win-win cooperation.
We hope to work closely with Amazon, give full play to the advantages of the National Comprehensive Pilot Zone for Cross-border E-commerce, make every effort to create a market-oriented, rule-of-law, internationalized business environment, actively build an excellent cross-border e-commerce ecosystem, better converge trade resources, make good use of innovation resources, develop industrial resources, strongly promote enterprises to go to the sea and foreign investment, and jointly promote the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce.
Chen Zhichang said that Nanjing will deeply implement the three-year action plan to promote the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce, support more enterprises to "touch the network upgrade" to carry out cross-border e-commerce business, vigorously attract cross-border e-commerce enterprises to set up in Nanjing, and actively participate in cross-border e-commerce technological innovation, integration of industry, standard-setting, and strive to create a new heights of cross-border e-commerce development.
We hope that Amazon will continue to deepen its cooperation with Nanjing and establish a more accurate and solid supply chain partnership. We look forward to the enterprises attending the conference coming into Nanjing and investing in Nanjing, sharing opportunities, discussing cooperation, and joining hands to realize a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win situation.
Eric Broussard thanked the Nanjing government for the strong support given to the organization of the summit, saying that the two sides have a good cooperative relationship and great potential for future cooperation, and hoped that the summit would create more opportunities for cooperation, such as the development of industrial belts, brand building, the construction of a network ecology of service providers and the cultivation of cross-border e-commerce talents, etc., to help more enterprises sell their goods globally at a lower cost and with greater convenience, and to better serve the majority of consumers. The event held a ceremony to launch the upgrading of the Nanjing office of Amazon Global Store, released the annual strategy of Amazon Global Store China 2025, and some guests made keynote speeches.
