Denser cells, better cost

The second phase of the project is "better than blue."

  Walking into the Phase II energy storage site, the energy storage area covering only 6.79 acres has 10 energy storage units, 20 battery pre-fabrication chambers and 10 PCS booster chambers, with a total installed capacity of 50 MW/100 MWh.

  "Compared to Phase I, Phase II can be described as small but strong." Xu Dong, secretary of the company's party committee and chairman of the board of directors, introduced, "Phase II adopts electric cores with greater energy density, more compact layout, and saves nearly half of the land with the same capacity."

Another point of pride for the project team is the lower cost of Phase II. "We happened to seize the window of increased competition in the energy storage system market, and the purchase price of the equipment was reduced by about 30 million yuan compared to Phase I." Xu Dong said with a smile, "We also optimized the design by changing the traditional concrete foundation to a pile foundation, which not only shortened the construction period, but also saved about 300,000 yuan in construction costs."

  Between one increase and one decrease, the economy and advancement of Phase II is immediately apparent. "In order to better adapt to the changing and complex grid operation mode and accept grid dispatch more stably, we also carried out station-wide modeling of the energy storage power station, with a higher safety factor and a denser protection system, as well as a more complete monitoring coverage and a more precise response." The O&M staff on site added, "Phase II is like an upgraded version of Phase I, with clearer operational data and faster response to dispatch commands."

How does an energy storage plant work?

Fast charging and discharging, peaks and valleys

  If the grid is compared to a huge transportation network, then the new energy generation is like a fluctuating traffic - photovoltaic power peaks in the afternoon, wind power is significantly enhanced at night, while the demand for electricity tends to be concentrated in the daytime and evening. The first phase of the project was commissioned in July 2024, and the second phase was also connected to the grid earlier this year. With the synergistic power of the two phases, it can absorb or release electricity quickly on a large scale, effectively relieve the peak pressure of Lishui region and even Nanjing power grid, and guarantee the reliable electricity consumption of enterprises and residents.

First-quarter numbers shine

Profit exceeds target by 14.5%

  The success of the energy storage project is just a microcosm of Datang Nanjing Thermal Power's "open door" in the first quarter.. In the first quarter, the company's heat sales target was fully achieved and the profit realized 114.5% of the target value.

In terms of the layout of emerging industries, the company has continued to focus on distributed photovoltaics since 2022.At present, more than twenty megawatts of rooftop photovoltaic projects have been built and put into operation in Lishui.At the same time, with the path of "ecology +", we actively promote the construction of centralized photovoltaic and Jingqiao pit integrated energy projects.
