In order to comply with the development trend of electrification and intelligentization, SAIC Passenger Vehicle has continued to increase the business layout and R&D and manufacturing investment in new energy and intelligent internet-connected vehicles, and after sufficient preparations in the early stage, and utilizing the Group's subordinate mature manufacturing bases, SAIC Passenger Vehicle has been pushing forward the upgrading and transformation of production capacity and products, and its first new model has formally entered into the stage of mass production.
As an important new energy vehicle production base for SAIC Group's layout in Nanjing, the plant covers an area of 635,000 square meters with a building area of 379,000 square meters.It has production workshops for stamping, bodywork, painting, general assembly, etc. as well as supporting auxiliary facilities, with a production scale of 210,000 passenger cars/year.
The Shangjie Z7/Z7T launched this time is a strategic model created by SAIC Group in cooperation with Hongmeng Zhixing, focusing on young consumers. Equipped with advanced technologies such as Huawei's Turing platform and ADS5.0 Hongmeng Zhi Cabin, Shangjie Z7/Z7T is positioned as a mid-size pure electric sedan, of which Z7T is the first hunting model of Hongmeng Zhi Xing.
The "old base output new products" is not only the upgrading of the production line, but also a vivid footnote of the green intelligent automobile industry in Jiangning Development Zone upgrading to new and green.

With the introduction of new energy vehicle manufacturing projects such as Changan Mazda and Shangjie, as well as intelligent network connection and "three electrics" enterprises such as T3 Travel, China Automobile Chuangzhi and SAIC Times, an industry chain integrating R&D, design, testing, parts manufacturing, engine manufacturing, vehicle manufacturing, marketing and service has been formed.
